The Christmas crunch is on! There is just a little over a week left until Christmas day and
gift shopping will become frantic as last minute shoppers jump into the fray.
But the real Christmas spirit isn’t about buying “stuff”, it’s about sharing and enjoying family
and friends.
The Salvation Army in Belleville hopes you’ll pause to remember the less fortunate in the community, and there are many.
So far, with just 8 days left in the Army’s Kettle Campaign $124,777.64 has been donated.
The goal this year is $175,000. All of the money raised is used locally to support the Lunch Room the Warm Room, the Emergency Food Bank, and other programs serving the unfortunate year round.
There is a need for these services. Last year, the Belleville Salvation Army served 31,000 meals to the needy.
And new this year, if you aren’t near a kettle to donate, the Salvation Army has just released an app. Google Salvation Army app.
