The Hastings and Prince Edward School Board’s Integration Committee has voted on a new name for Moira Secondary School, but it won’t be released just yet.
Five names had been submitted to the committee for a decision including Gord Downie Secondary School, Belleville East Secondary School, East Hill Secondary School, East Side High School and Meyers Creek Secondary School.
The board says it is moving ahead with the name change, despite a petition not to make the change and the choice won’t be made public until the agenda comes out for the January 8th board meeting.
The board has also decided that Ken Manderville will move from Trenton High School, to become the new combined school’s principal, while Eric Fetterley and Dayna Scaletta will move from Quinte and Centennial respectively, as Vice Principals.
