The holiday season is upon us again and with it comes the launch of the annual Feed The Meter Campaign in support of student nutrition programs in Hastings and Prince Edward County.
Three local municipalities, Belleville, Trenton and Picton, will participate in the campaign, which launched Friday and will run until the end of December.
Executive director of the Hastings Prince Edward Learning Foundation Maribeth DeSnoo explains how the campaign works.
DeSnoo says this is an important fundraiser for the youth in local communities.
She says the Feed the Meter Campaign and Food for Learning received an “uprecedented” fundraising boost last year.
DeSnoo adds they are aiming to raise $40,000 this year.
