The Belleville Senators were back on the ice at Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre Tuesday morning, after an off-day Monday, as they prepare for a trip to Manitoba this weekend.
Belleville picked up three of a possible six points last weekend during a three game in three night stretch, with stops in Hartford, Providence and Springfield.
Former Belleville Bull Tyler Randell is back in the Friendly City with the B-Sens and feels like his team should have brought home a few more points.
Randell also commented on his return to Providence where he played for five seasons with the Bruins.
Head Coach Kurt Kleinendorst tells Quinte News, despite the grind of being on the road most of the month, the team is getting used to the back-and-forth of the schedule and there are some positives to draw from spending so much time away from home.
Tuesday’s morning skate was split into sections of skill drills, including stick handling and shooting, followed by full-ice scrimmages played one-on-one, two-on-two and three-on-three.
Kleinendorst says now that the team is getting back into its routine, the rest of the week will be focused on teaching some of the younger players a very important lesson.
The B-Sens will fly to Winnipeg on Thursday and play the Manitoba Moose on Friday and Saturday nights.
You can hear both games live on 800 AM CJBQ, CJBQ.com, or the CJBQ App, with pre-game coverage at 7:50 p.m. both nights.
Belleville’s home opener is just over a week away, with the Syracuse Crunch visiting the newly-renovated Yardmen Arena, on Wednesday November 1st.
