Parks Canada has confirmed that the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site will fully open to navigation as planned on Friday, May 29.
Following a temporary delay to the opening of Locks 42 to 45 due to high water levels and flows, conditions have improved sufficiently to allow navigation throughout the entire waterway.
Parks Canada notes Flows will continue to increase outside of navigation hours until further notice to balance water levels across the system.
Conditions outside of navigation hours should be considered non-navigable.
The increased flows are the result of dam adjustments required to manage higher-than-normal water levels.
Additional fluctuations in water levels and flows may occur as water management operations continue and weather conditions evolve.
Residents and visitors are urged to exercise extreme caution on and around the water.
Boaters are strongly encouraged to reduce their speed and minimize their wake to help protect shorelines, infrastructure and other waterway users.
