It was a tough Saturday night road loss for the Belleville Senators.
The American Hockey League club let a two-goal lead slip away from them late in the third and ended up falling 3-2 in a shootout to the Providence Bruins.
Ethan Werek and Jack Rodewald scored for the B-Sens.
Assists went to Thomas Chabot, Filip Chlapik, Max McCormick and Nick Paul.
Andrew Hammond made 39 saves on 41 shots in the defeat.
Paul, the 22-year old native of Mississauga, Ont., said the team’s effort level was there despite the loss.
Belleville turns around on short rest and plays in Springfield Sunday afternoon. CJBQ has coverage beginning at 2:50 p.m. for Deerhaven Farm and Garden and Eastern Overhead Doors with Jack Miller.
