The Quinte West Planning Committee is recommending rezoning on two pieces of land, to build one new subdivision and to expand another.
The first approval was to rezone 19.9 acres of land at Highway 2 and 2nd Dug Hill Road, across from Walmart, to ultimately be developed into a subdivision by Staikos Homes.
The second is on County Road 40, south of Telephone Road and would facilitate a 21-home expansion of the Brookshire Meadows subdivision.
Planning Chair Jim Alyea tells Quinte News the committee will wait for site plans to be submitted from the developers before the next steps are taken.
City council must still give the OK to the Planning Committee recommendation.
