An inquest has been ordered into the death of an inmate in Warkworth Institution in 2015.
Thirty-four year old Jeffrey Ysebert of Strathroy died on January 11, 2015, while serving a five year sentence for a string of robberies in the London area.
He was found in his cell “in need of medical attention” on January 6, 2015 and was taken to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, where he died a few days later.
At the time of his death, Warkworth Institution staff said no foul play was involved.
The inquest will examine the circumstances of Ysebert’s death and make recommendations on preventing similiar incidents.
It will be held at the Cobourg Courthouse on November 8, 2017, under Inquest Coroner Dr. Jennifer Tang.
