There are some upcoming works projects in Prince Edward County that residents should be aware of.
Starting on Monday October 16th, daily watermain flushing and hydrant maintenance will begin on the Picton Water System, between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Residents are asked to avoid excessive water use while flushing is taking place and may notice fluctuations in water pressure, or discolouration, but it will not affect water quality.
Flushing will take place at the following locations:
- Oct. 16-20, 2017: Area northeast of and including Johnson Street in Picton
- Oct. 23-27, 2017: Picton Main Street and all streets north from Johnson Street up to and including Talbot Street.
- Oct. 30-Nov. 3, 2017: Picton Main Street (west) and all streets southwest from Ferguson Street out to the traffic circle.
- Nov. 6-10, 2017: All streets within Bloomfield. In addition, Macaulay Village will be flushed.
- Nov. 13-17, 2017: All streets south of Picton Main Street from Chapel Street up to and including Bridge Street and Glenora Road.
Meanwhile, inspection work on the Outlet Bridge on County Road 18 and Black River Bridge on County Road 13 will be done between October 18th and 20th, with lane restrictions in place while workers are on those sites.
