A Mississauga woman has been arrested after an assault in Belleville early yesterday morning.
City Police say the accused and victim know each other and were walking near North Front Street and Bell Boulevard, just before 6:00 a.m. and began to argue.
The argument escalated and investigators say the accused stabbed the victim in the chest, then fled the area.
32 year-old Nicole Riley was arrested this afternoon and is charged with one count each of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
She was been held for a bail hearing.
The victim was taken to Belleville General Hospital, treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.
