The Ottawa Senators came back from 3 goals down in the third period to stun the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 to win the 3 team rookie tournament in Toronto. The Senators crushed Montreal 8-2 on Saturday night.
Belleville native Kevin Bailie started in goal for the Sens and stopped 12 of 15 shots in the first half of the game. Bailie starred for the Queen’s Golden Gaels leading them to an appearance in the Canadian University Hockey championships this year. He was Belleville’s Athlete of the Year in 2014
Many of those in the Ottawa lineup will be playing for the American Hockey League Belleville Senators this season. Ottawa opens their main camp later this week.
