From the Belleville McFarlands through the Belleville Bulls, local hockey fans have turned to CJBQ for play by play coverage for more than 70 years. That will now continue with the Belleville Senators.
B-Sens Chief Operating Officer Rob Mullowney and Quinte Broadcasting President Bill Morton have announced a partnership that makes CJBQ the “Voice of the Belleville Senators”. Mullowney says CJBQ has been synonymous with hockey coverage in the Bay of Quinte region for many years and that he looks forward to working with them as professional hockey comes to the area. Mullowney says “we recognize the importance of giving our fans the opportunity to listen to all of our games on local radio and online, and we are confident Quinte Broadcasting will deliver a professional high quality broadcast presentation”.
Quinte Broadcasting President Bill Morton says “we are extremely happy and excited that the Belleville Senators have chosen CJBQ as their station of choice to broadcast all games for the inaugural season. Rob Mullowney and the Belleville Senators are a class act and we are proud to be partners with them.”
Quinte Broadcasting Sports Director and veteran play by play announcer Jack Miller will handle the play by play. Other additions to the broadcast team will be named at a later day.
CJBQ will broadcast all exhibition, regular season and Calder Cup playoff games beginning September 30th with the first of 2 exhibition games against the Laval Rocket (Montreal Canadiens). Belleville will return to Laval one week later when they play their first AHL game on October 6th. Belleville’s first home game is November 1st when they host the Syracuse Crunch (Tampa Bay Lightning).
The CJBQ feed will also be simulcast on cjbq.com, bellevillesens.com and on the American Hockey League website, the AHL.com.
