The new board of the Belleville Downtown Improvement Area is reversing a decision made by a previous board.
In the wake of part-time Executive Director Marilyn Lawrie’s resignation at the end of this month, the board decided to change its approach and interview for a full-time Office Manager.
There are 2 candidates for the position, and the person chosen will start the new job in September.
Marilyn Lawrie says she enjoyed her time with the BDIA, but there’s a lot of work.
Ms. Lawrie has other career opportunities under consideration. The BDIA board will also be discussing whether
a part-time staffer will be needed in addition to the Office Manager.
