Hastings County is moving ahead with developing more Early Years Child and Family Centres under a new provincial program.
Earlier this summer Hastings County received $1.4 million to expand the number of centres as the municipalities take over management of the program in January of 2018.
The next phase of the project is to issue a request for proposals to establish the centres in four areas, Belleville, Quinte West, Central Hastings and North Hastings.
Director of Community and Human Services Erin Rivers told the committee this week the idea is to ensure the program stays updated.
Rivers says families with no special needs also attend the family space centres.
