Break and Enters
Belleville Police responded to two break and enter calls on July 20th. In the early morning hours police attended a West Hill residence that had been entered sometime over night. The residence was under construction and a number of tools were reported stolen. During the evening police responded to a residence on College Street West for a report of a break and enter that had occurred sometime during the previous 5 days. Taken were electronics, DVDs and video games.
Over 80mgs
At 10:10 p.m. on July 19th an officer on patrol conducted a vehicle stop on Coleman Street for an expired validation sticker. The officer noted that the driver had been consuming alcohol and administered a road side breath test. The driver failed the test and was taken to the Belleville Police Service for additional testing. The driver’s blood alcohol level was found to be nearly 3 times the legal limit. Michael Bonia of Newfoundland was charged with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood. The accused was released from custody and will appear in court on August 3rd. The driver’s license was suspended for 90 days,
Suspicious Person
At approximately 11 p.m. on July 19th, officers attended the area of Dundas Street West and Bay Bridge Road for a report of a suspicious person. Police located a man who was found to be breaching his conditions of probation. The male was arrested and charged with one count of Breach of Probation and released from custody to appear in court on July 27th.
