He has been a professional hockey coach since 1991 but Kurt Kleinendorst is about to experience something new in his career. Coaching a team based in Canada.
As the Ottawa Senators American Hockey League affiliate moves from Binghamton, New York to Belleville so does the 56 year old native of Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Kleinendorst led the Binghamton Senators to a Calder Cup title in 2011 and re-joined the organization a year ago. He spoke with Quinte Broadcasting Sports Director Jack Miller.
Kleinendorst’s coaching credits include a season as an assistant with the NHL’s New Jersey Devils. He also coached the National U.S. Under 18 team. He was a 4th round draft pick of the New York Rangers in 1980 and played most of his professional career in the International and American Hockey League.
