Belleville Council may be directing staff to take the next step in implementing an Active Transportation Bylaw on Monday.
Council will give first reading to the bylaw, opening the plan up for public consultation, before it can eventually be implemented.
The bylaw would address things like cycling on all city sidewalks, skateboarding on downtown sidewalks and the use of e-bikes and speeding on city trails, among others.
The draft bylaw is based on a review of similar rules in place in towns across the province including Peterborough, and would be up for public comment for a few months if approved.
Belleville City Council meets at 4:00 Monday afternoon at City Hall.
