A former Belleville Bull is stepping into an arena of a different kind, as he seeks a seat at Queen’s Park.
Troy Crowder is expected to be acclaimed as the Progressive Conservative nominee in Sudbury tonight.
He’ll go up against incumbent Liberal Minister of Energy Glenn Thibeault in next summer’s provincial election.
Crowder played seven seasons in the NHL, mainly in the tough-guy role and played a total of 67 games in Belleville in the late ’80s, registering 17 goals, 32 assists and 155 penalty minutes.
