The commanding officer of CFB Trenton’s 429 Bison Squadron has left his post early.
Officials at 8 Wing Trenton tell Quinte News Lieutenant-Colonel Bill Church has been reassigned, pending an investigation into professional misconduct during performance of flying operations.
Exact details of what happened weren’t released but 8 Wing communications say Church has been replaced by “a capable deputy”, until a change of command ceremony next month.
Church was originally set to hand over the reigns of 429 Squadron, which operates the CFB Trenton fleet of Globemaster aircraft, on July 12th.
That ceremony will go ahead as scheduled with a new CO taking over.
