The ambulance business in our area is getting busier and busier.
The Chief of Hastings Paramedic Services and Director of Emergency Services, Doug Socha,
told Belleville council Tuesday that paramedics dealt with 32,000 calls for service last year in Hastings and Prince Edward counties, 22,000 of the calls involving direct patient contact.
That is an 8.4% increase from the year before.
Socha went on to say he was pleased to announce that all response time standards were met or exceeded.
Demand for ambulance services is only expected to increase because of a growing cohort of older people in this region.
