An inmate has died at Warkworth Institution.
According to prison officials, 69-year-old John Kehoe had been serving an indeterminate sentence for Murder, Attempted Murder, Assault and robbery since December 14, 1972.
He died earlier this morning around 1:30 at hospital.
Kehoe’s next of kin have been notified, but a cause of death has not been released.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
