The “CRA” scam is picking up steam in the Quinte region.
Belleville police have recently received a lot of complaints from people who are being called at home by someone claiming to be with the “C R A “.
The caller tells the people they owe back taxes and could go to jail if they don’t pay up. The caller might also suggest buying Walmart or iTunes cards to pay off their taxes.
This is a fraud, and people should not take any action.
Meanwhile, Belleville police are still looking for the suspect that may have been involved in a break and enter at a house on Selena Avenue last month.
