A Belleville man has been arrested in Toronto after an 18 year-old woman was allegedly abducted during an Uber ride on Monday.
The Toronto Police Service says the victim had been picked up by an Uber driver in the city around 11:00 a.m. and the driver made inappropriate comments and unwanted advances towards her.
The police report says the woman asked to be let out of the car, but the driver refused and tried to forcibly take her to a private location, before she was able to get away and call police.
24 year-old Sukhbaj Singh, of Belleville, is charged with forcible confinement, kidnapping and assault.
He has a July 4th court date in Toronto.
