Leon’s Superstore in Trenton is getting behind the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation in a big way, launching a major fundraising initiative to bring new, high-tech beds to the hospital and replace aging and out-dated ones.
Owner Mike Eden and TMHF staff launched the “Buy A Bed” campaign today, which sees $25 from any mattress purchase over $299, donated towards the cost of four new beds at TMH.
Eden tells Quinte News, after a recent staff tour of the hospital, he decided the “Buy-A-Bed” is a perfect fit for his store.
In total, the TMHF is trying to buy eight new beds this year, at a total cost of close to $100,000.
Hospital staff say the new beds will make life more comfortable and convenient for patients and will make daily tasks like transporting, weighing and monitoring patients much more easy and efficient.
And TMHF Executive Director Wendy Warner says since the foundation is responsible for raising money to buy all new equipment at the hospital, the help from Leon’s is critical.
Leon’s also announced today it will be donating all of the furnishings needed to complete the TMHF Homebuild for Healthcare house, with construction on the Bay Street property to begin soon.
