A 52 year-old Bancroft OPP officer has been found not guilty of discreditable conduct, under the Police Services Act.
Chris Sheppard had been charged with sexual assault in 2014, after an incident involving his estranged wife, but that charge was withdrawn in 2016 after Sheppard entered into a peace bond.
As far as the Police Services Act charge goes, the adjudicator in the case says he didn’t find enough clear and convincing evidence presented at hearing, to find Sheppard guilty.
Sheppard had been suspended with pay but arrangements are being made for him to return to work.
