The president of the Ontario Public Service Employee’s Union will be in the Quinte Region this weekend, supporting striking members of Community Living Campbellford/Brighton.
Warren “Smokey” Thomas will be showing his support for the various unionized Community Living workers, who have been on strike since March 22nd, protesting wages and transportation issues, among others.
That picket will be held outside the Campbellford office, on Bridge Street, this Saturday at 10 a.m.
Meanwhile today, members of other OPSEU locals picketed in Quinte West and Belleville in support of the local workers.
The union says managers from both Belleville and Trenton have been crossing picket lines in Campbellford and Brighton to do the work of striking employees.
