When asked to comment on his time in high school, Reid had this to say, “My best memories of Centennial are of walking. Walking onto the practice field as Pat Carty coached us to a COSSA winning football season. Walking out of Chuck MacWhirter’s history class feeling like I suddenly understood something important. Walking off school grounds to skip class – even though I knew I’d get busted. Walking past Mr. Scrutton as he made other teachers laugh so hard they almost cried. Walking by Smokey Hollow and sorta recognizing the odour. Walking through the parking lot because I’d finally been able to drive to school. Walking to the late bus because I had lost driving privileges thanks to that class I had skipped. Walking through the cafeteria and heading to the exact same table as always. Walking with my buddies past the girls who liked us a lot less than we wanted. Walking onto stage to get my diploma. I did a lot of walking in high school.”
Reid is looking forward to addressing the current student body and alumni.
