Tyendinaga Township is instituting a newly developed Drought Management Plan, which was put together at the request of council, on a suggestion from Quinte Conservation.
CAO Steve Mercer says the plan mostly covers water conservation tips and educational information, but also includes some new provisions if the water situation gets really bad again.
Mercer also tells Quinte News, it was important to get the plan in place, following 19 weeks under a level three low water condition last summer.
Mercer says the plan will be posted on the municipal website and communicated fully to residents as well in the coming weeks.
