Quinte Health Care was given an update on the new hospital proposed for Prince Edward County.
On Tuesday night, the board was told of recent efforts by the steering committee, including proposed sites.
They are looking at the hospital site or the greenfield space adjacent to McFarland Home.
QHC Chief Financial Officer Brad Harrington says now that they have received approval for the pre-capital submission, they can now move to the next stage.
The committee says they will look at numerous factors, including site access, environmental impact, drainage, electrical and mechanical capacity.
Information is being gathered from community members, along with health care partners, to find the best options for a new hospital.
A new hospital for The County could still be close to a decade away.
