It may go down as one of the greatest first round series in OJHL history.
Seven games, two of the league’s top goaltenders, an entrenched east division rivalry, and last minute heroics made for a wonderful finish in Whitby Tuesday night.
Nic Mucci scored at 17:49 of the third period as the Wellington Dukes scored a 3-2 game 7 win over Whitby to moved on to the 2nd round.
Mucci talks about the goal.
Connor Ryckman was sensational turning aside 53 shots in the contest and says it was an incredible feeling watching that game winner go in.
Coach and GM Marty Abrams says Ryckman was incredible.
The Dukes will now move on to face the Cobourg Cougars, who have been off since last week. Abrams says they now have a big test ahead.
The schedule will be known sometime Wednesday.
