The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus created the Eastern Ontario Regional Network or EORN to provide higher speeds and bandwidth to at least 95% of homes and businesses in Eastern Ontario.
Now the province of Nova Scotia has hired EORN, along with two other companies, to create a strategy for the fibre optic network.
Hastings County CAO Jim Pine says EORN has been holding consultations with internet service providers, and municipal and provincial officials.
Pine says EORN is paid for its services and expenses.
He says the three partners will present a report to the province in the spring.
