Residents of the City of Quinte West likely won’t be seeing any change to the way their local election will be run next year.
At Quinte West’s council meeting tonight, city staff will recommend that the voting process remain as is.
Municipalities now have the ability to change over to ranked ballots and to make other changes.
However, staff suggests the last election ran smoothly with results coming in quickly with vote tabulators and paper ballots.
Also, everyone had the chance to vote because internet voting was available and will be again in 2018.
Quinte West council meets at 6:30 tonight at city hall.
