It’s not usually good news when an ambulance is called to a house in the Quinte area, but the first week of 2017 was the exception.
Chief of Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services, Doug Socha, told the emergency services committee Wednesday paramedics delivered a baby boy right at his home.
Mother and baby are doing well.
He says paramedics in the Quinte area deliver one or two babies a year.
Socha, who has delivered three babies, including his own son, says, “as a paramedic, it’s a nice thing to have done during your career.”
