The mayor of Deseronto says 2017 is the year the $7.5 million upgrade to the water plant will begin, following the completion of the sewage treatment plant project.
Mayor Norm Clarke says he has been concerned since the water plant was in such poor condition there was no chance for growth in the community.

Mayor Clarke says in 2017 he wants businesses to get involved in telling council what they would like to see in the town, and to help promote the town.
