Lots of projects are on the go for Northumberland County.
As we continue our look back at 2016, we focus on the western portion of our listening area.
Former Northumberland Warden Gil Brocanier held the top position in the county for the majority of 2016, and says they continued to have all municipalities in the county work together.
He says the strategic plan and their shared services initiative continued moving forward. He says it allows them to save money and be a more efficient unit.
Brocanier adds they are also saving some money, thanks to a new investment at their material recovery facility in Grafton.
He says it adds another $100,000 to the county’s bottom line each year.
Brocanier, the Mayor of Cobourg, stepped away from the warden position during meetings this month.
