The cost of policing in Quinte West has dropped considerably.
Monday night, Quinte mayor Jim Harrison told council how the cost to police the city decreased to $8.1 million from over $10 million three years ago.
He beamed at how the total price tag including building and community police costs sits at $8.5 million.
The cost of OPP policing changed for all communities when the organization changed its municipal-costing formula.
