The homegrown flavours of the county were showcased on Saturday.
Over 1200 people flocked to the Crystal Palace in Picton Saturday to sample the area’s best wines and culinary delights all in one place at Taste: Community Grown.
Debbie Nolan, operation manager for the Prince Edward County Wine Growers association, said that over 50 vendors and nearly a dozen wineries participated in the 15th annual event.
She noted the venue is a huge draw for wine lovers, giving a chance to sample and then follow up on the flavours festival goers favour.
She said the event is a popular one for the wineries both big and small.
In addition to wine tastings and culinary delights, the County Chopped competition, pitted three local chefs against one another racing against the clock to create the best meal for the celebrity judges utilizing local ingredients.
A new addition to this year’s event was the coveted Rose Bowl award which was collected by Karlos Estates Patio Reserve Rose.
