A comeback in enemy territory was in the cards for the Trenton Golden Hawks last night.
In OJHL exhibition play, the G-Hawks scored three unanswered third period goals to take a 3-2 victory away from the rival Wellington Dukes
Michael Silveri had the first Trenton goal to go along with an assist, Lucas Brown tied the game shorthanded and newcomer Gary Dhaliwal finished off the comeback with a powerplay goal with only 2:47 to go.
Returning netminder Jackson McIntosh came in and shut the door on the Dukes in the second half, picking up the win after Pelham, Ontario product Chris Janzen started.
Brayden Stortz scored both Wellington goals, while Connor Ryckman went the distance in net, making 36 stops.
Trenton plays one final pre-season tuneup game Wednesday at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Gardens against the Kingston Voyageurs before their much anticipated home opener next Friday against Newmarket.
Wellington will rest and practice for a week before their home opener Friday versus the Aurora Tigers.
