Quinte West OPP are pleased with the results of a commercial vehicle traffic blitz, conducted earlier this week, with the help of the ministries of transportation and finance and the Highway Safety Division.
Officers checked 26 commercial vehicles this past Wednesday and took 13 of them off the road for various reasons.
A total of 17 charges were laid and five sets of license plates were removed, due to serious safety concerns.
In addition, the Ministry of Environment inspected 14 vehicles and issued two repair orders and one Environmental Protection Act charge.
The Ministry of Finance also completed 15 diesel inspections.
