Quinte Waste Solutions and Lower Trent Conservation have teamed up to reduce rogue recyclables from ending up in the Trenton Greenbelt Conservation Area.
In a new initiative ‘Green the Greenbelt’ was launched Tuesday afternoon with the two teams announcing they will be going door to door educating residents along the Trent River about ways they can help prevent wind-blown litter.
Quinte Waste Solutions spokesperson Dan Orr says a good way to prevent litter is to wait until your collection day – don’t put out your blue box the night before.
Orr encourages residents to set out their blue boxes the day of collection before 7 a.m. as opposed to the night before.
Orr says they will be visiting residents along the Trent from Wall Street to Dixon Drive.
