A man and woman have been charged after they reportedly assaulted police.
At 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, Quinte West OPP were called after a complainant working at the drive thru of a Trenton restaurant believed the driver of a vehicle who just left the drive-through was impaired by alcohol.
Officers located the suspect vehicle on Trenton-Frankford Road and placed the driver under arrest.
Police say the driver and passenger were both assaultive and resisted arrest.
Forty-two-year-old Shane Smith of Frankford is charged with impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, resisting a peace officer, failing to surrender his licence and possessing unmarked cigarettes.
Thirty-five-year-old Danielle Roblin of Trenton was charged with assaulting a peace officer.
They were both released. Smith has a July 7 court date and Roblin August 4.
