For the second time in a week, the sports world has been rocked by the death of a legend.
“Mr. Hockey”, Gordie Howe passed away this morning. He was 88. Considered one of the greatest to ever play the game, Gordie Howe played 26 NHL seasons, winning four Stanley Cups. The 21 time All Star made his debut with the Detroit Red Wings in 1946.
He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972 although he would play for another 7 years, mostly in the defunct World Hockey Association after his induction.
Howe is fourth all time in NHL scoring with 1850 points including 801 goals.
