A trial date is yet to be set in the assault case against Belleville police officer Eric Shorey.
In May 2015, Shorey was charged with one count of assault relating to a domestic incident stemming from allegations that occurred in December 2014.
A trial management session was held today at the Quinte Consolidated and the matter was put over until June 20 to set a date.
It has been suggested five to six consecutive dates will be required for this matter.
In October, a Police Services Act Hearing ruled Shorey must resign from the BPS by February 19 or be terminated after he was found guilty of discreditable conduct.
Shorey is appealing the decision and remains suspended from duty with pay.
