Hastings County staff is working with the province to determine the future of a social housing complex in Bancroft hit by fire on the weekend, and a recent walk-out by the board of directors.
Five units of the 57-unit non-profit housing complex on Woodview Lane, Bancroft, were heavily damaged in the fire early Sunday morning.
County CAO Jim Pine says the housing complex is a not-for-profit venture run by an independent board but financed by Hastings County.
Pine says it’s still not clear why the board resigned and that will be part of the investigation.
Meanwhile staff is awaiting the results of an investigation by the fire marshall’s office on the cause of the fire.
