Firefighters in Bancroft were on the scene of a big residential fire Sunday morning.
There was heavy damage to three or four units in a five-unit social housing townhouse complex on Woodview Lane near downtown Bancroft.
The fire call came in at 3:30 a.m.
The fire was extinguished and everyone was evacuated and accounted for. There have been no injuries reported.
According to the North Hastings Fire Service, they have contacted the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office and are waiting for an investigation to start.
Social housing on Woodview Lane in Bancroft has been in the news recently for other reasons. The entire North Hastings Non-Profit Housing Corporation Board quit earlier this month.
Several residents of the public housing complex have complained about poor maintenance.
