The details are out for the 32nd installment of the Belleville Waterfront and Ethnic Festival and organizers hope the event will attract families from all over.
The festival, which features plenty of kids’ activities, vendors, food and the midway, will run Thursday July 7 to Sunday July 10.
Chamber of Commerce CEO Bill Saunders tells Quinte News, with provincial funding coming in smaller and smaller amounts each year, it was important to showcase the cultural side of the festival this year.
Saunders added that they’re hoping a broad range of musical acts, from local favourites like Instant Rivalry, to some talented acts from out of town, will help to bring a large and diverse crowd to the festival.
But it’s not all expected to be smooth sailing, with major construction work happening on Dundas Street and around the entrance to Zwick’s Park.
Saunders says they’re going to be losing a parking lot as well, due to some soccer field maintenance.
But all of those headaches are expected to be alleviated through public transit and off-site parking lots.
Other events to look forward to include the free kids’ village, helicopter rides and of course piles of ethnic food.
