Quinte West councillors and staff are looking at a compromise on a controversial speed limit change
just east of Frankford on County Road 5.
Frankford ward councillor Keith Reid is suggesting a speed limit of 60 kmh from Collins Road to Flyboy Road and then upping the speed to 80 kmh heading east after that.
That move would shorten the stretch that is now set at 60 kmh. Hundreds of residents have complained the new speed of 60 kmh is too slow and too dangerous.
A report on the recommendation and on changes to how the public is notified of planned speed limit changes is expected soon.
