Belleville is about to receive its first application for a medical marijuana dispensary and there seems to be a number of unanswered questions about it.
The city has set out the rules for medicinal marijuana dispensaries, differentiating between medical facility and production.
The first application for such a dispensary comes forward in May.
Councillor Jack Miller raised concerns at Monday night’s planning committee that the proposed site at 373 Sidney Street was in a “significant residential area.”
Miller pointed out it comes under federal jurisdiction.

Belleville’s planning committee is recommending that city council regulate clothing drop-off bins throughout the city.
Tonight the committee tightened up the by-law proposed by staff.
The committee amended the proposed by-law to allow only one bin on any site and to only allow bins of registered charities.
The by-law would prohibit the bins on city property and regulate their location on private property.
It now goes to city council for final approval.
