The list isn’t official yet, but we now have some idea what the medical equipment is worth that
is proposed to be moved from Trenton Memorial to Belleville General Hospital.
At a public information meeting of OurTMH it was learned that Quinte Health Care management released a list containing hundreds of items, many of them small parts, to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation today(Wednesday).
The total value of the items isn’t known, but donations to the Foundation paid for 1.2 million dollars worth of the equipment that could be shipped to Belleville.
Some of the larger items on the list include a Green Light Laser worth $150,000 new, a Holmium Laser worth $180,000 and a C-Arm valued at a quarter of a million dollars brand new.
Quinte Health Care is taking another look at the list and is expected to make amendments.
About 70 people attended the OurTMH Town Hall meeting and heard that the volunteer advocacy group intends to continue to push to have Trenton Memorial as a community run hospital run separately from Quinte Health Care.
OurTMH will also continue to lobby to have TMH remain a viable hospital with a 24/7 emergency room, surgery, 24 primary care beds, a regional ambulatory care centre, and clinics for seniors, veterans and other health services.
