Tragedy on North Front Street in Belleville in the supper hour yesterday.
An 82-year-old man out walking was hit by a vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the vehicle was not injured, and alcohol was not a factor in
the mishap.
The accident occurred just south of Valleyview Crescent.
Belleville police closed a stretch of North Front for six hours for an investigation, which
is ongoing.
Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call Constable Brad Stitt of the Belleville Police Service.
